Moxibustion
Moxibustion
With moxibustion the acupuncture points are stimulated through a warming process.
The warmth is created by lighting moxa weed.
Moxa weed is dried mugwort, which mildly warms the skin but penetrates deeply.
Moxibustion is mainly used to banish coldness and to bring stagnant Qi (s. “Acupuncture”) back into flow.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a technique, that stimulates the skin by scraping it with a spoon or a coin until it
reddens. Gua Sha belongs to traditional medicine in the whole of Asia and is usually used to
treat muscular hardening conditions, pain in the shoulder, neck and back and to loosen the
tissue and dissolve stagnancy.
